Cops say Duarte shooting “not gang related”
In a statement released late Sunday, detectives said a shooting that killed a Duarte teen was “not gang related.”
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting that occurred Sunday, June 4, 2017, at approximately 1:40 a.m., on the 400 block of Shrode Avenue, Unincorporated Duarte.
Temple Station deputies responded to a “Shots fired” call at the location. Upon their arrival, they found a male Hispanic juvenile unconscious and suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.
The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives have no suspect information, but believe the incident is not gang related.
