Duarte shooting claims life on Friday night
A Duarte house party turned deadly on Friday night, when a man shot his neighbor, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
According to Deputy Crystal Hernandez, the shooting occurred about 7:55 p.m. in the 2100 block of Broach Avenue.
The two men had argued, and unidentified suspect left before returning and opening fire, Hernandez said. The shooter then fled in a white Toyota pickup.
One man was killed. He was not identified.
Police pursued on the 210 Freeway, but the man ultimately pulled over and was arrested, Hernandez said. A weapon was found inside his truck.
Witnesses said the two men lived on the same property in separate residences. The victim’s identity has not been released.
