PASADENA — Singer Juan Gabriel, who died Sunday at the age of 66, was remembered locally for a memorable Rose Bowl appearance in 1993 that drew a record-breaking 75,000 fans.

The live appearance was one of several performances by the singer during a copyright dispute with BMG.

In the Rose Bowl concert, which was produced by Telemundo, Gabriel made a grand entrance on stage and wowed his fans with a retrospective of tunes from various stages in his career.

In Rose Bowl lore, Gabriel’s concert remains as legendary as those by Pink Floyd, Guns N Roses and U2. Billboard Magazine lists
