Juan Gabriel ’93 Rose Bowl concert recalled
PASADENA — Singer Juan Gabriel, who died Sunday at the age of 66, was remembered locally for a memorable Rose Bowl appearance in 1993 that drew a record-breaking 75,000 fans.
The live appearance was one of several performances by the singer during a copyright dispute with BMG.
In the Rose Bowl concert, which was produced by Telemundo, Gabriel made a grand entrance on stage and wowed his fans with a retrospective of tunes from various stages in his career.
