Latino Heritage Parade seeks grand marshall

The Latino Heritage Parade is seeking nominations for Community Grand Marshal at this year’s parade. Nominations will close at 6 p.m. on August 24.  Nominations can be sent by email to Mary Urtecho-Garcia at mugarcia@cityofpasadena.net.

Nominees for Community Grand Marshal must be Pasadena residents. Nominations should include the name, mailing address, telephone number and email addresses for both nominee and nominator. Officials also asked nominators to submit a photo and brief biography.

This year’s parade is on October 15, at 11 a.m.on Los Robles Avenue. Afterwards, La Pintoresca Park will host cultural activities, food and dance, info booths and much more from Noon to 4 p.m. More than 1,000 participants and spectators took part in the parade last year.

Sponsored by the Pasadena Human Services and Recreation Department and the Latino Heritage Committee, the parade will celebrate the accomplishments of Latino individuals from all professions. This year’s theme is “Nuestros Heroes” (“Our Heroes”).
