Monrovia announces city council candidates

MALDEFCity officials this week certified candidates for Monrovia’s citywide election April 11.

Positions on the ballot include mayor, city council, city clerk and city treasurer.

The candidates for mayor are incumbent Tom Adams and challenger Mark Harris. Running for two open city council seats are incumbents Larry Spicer and Alexander Blackburn and challenger Clifford DeCosta.

Incumbent Alice D. Atkins will run opposed for the post of City Clerk. Historian Stephen R. Baker will seek the treasurer’s post without opposition.
