Monrovia’s water rate increase could be defeated – Here’s how
It’s no secret that Monrovia’s water rates are rising, and many residents are less than pleased with the prospect of an average bill increase of $16.87, and that estimate only covers single-family residential customers.
Now, Monrovia residents and water customers will have a chance to respond. A public hearing on the rate increases has been scheduled for Jan. 16, 2018. Public hearing notices will be mailed to customers next week, along with a breakdown of the proposed increases and the reason for them. Additionally, those notices will include a protest ballot that can be returned to the City, to protest against the rate adjustment.
