The “#RoseJam” closure this month will affect eastbound traffic on the 210, as well as the 134 connector.

Just when you thought it was safe to get back on the freeway, #RoseJam returns for two more weekends in August. The Interstate Highway 210 near Pasadena will be closed again this Saturday night through Monday morning. A second closure will follow two weeks from now, from August 27 through August 29.

This closure will affect all eastbound lanes on the I-210, and is part of a larger project to completely rehabilitate aging freeway pavement. This project will continue until 2019. Caltrans has used the tag “#RoseJam” on Twitter and other social media to communicate information about the closures in the area.

Caltrans urged motorists to use caution while driving in the freeway construction area. “Be extra alert and follow all freeway detour signs if you must travel through the area,” officials said. “Motorists should consider seeking alternative routes to avoid this part of I-210 during the closures.”

Last month’s closures did not affect businesses. “Pasadena remains open for business and welcomes everyone to visit, dine and shop here instead of being stuck in freeway traffic,” Pasadena officials said last month.
