SAN MARINO — Crowell Library in San Marino will host a free “scam stoppers” event for senior citizens at noon on Aug. 5.

Focusing on awareness and prevention of scams that target senior citizens, the “scam stoppers” event will be hosted by the offices of state Sen.Carol Liu, D-La Canada Flintridge, Assemblyman Ed Chau, D-Monterey Park, the City of San Marino and the Contractors State Licensing Board.

According to the CSLB, seniors citizens and especially senior homeowners are especially vulnerable to unscrupulous contractors. “Join us and learn how to protect yourself,” an official release said. “Seniors, their families, and caregivers are encouraged to attend this free seminar.”

For more information and/or to RSVP, please contact Senator Liu’s office at (818) 409-0400 or
