Supervisor debate set for Thursday night
Los Angeles County Supervisor District 5 candidates Kathryn Barger and Darrell Park will meet on Thursday to debate their proposed policies. The supervisor debate is scheduled for 7 – 9 p.m., at the Creveling Lounge at Pasadena City College. It will be hosted by the Pasadena League of Women Voters .
Things have gotten heated between Barger (who took first place in the June 7 primary with 105,000 votes) and Park (who came in second with 55,000 votes). This comes only a few days after a county judge ruled that Park’s ballot statement violated elections law. In that statement, it alleged that Barger supported presidential candidate Donald Trump’s proposed policies.
Although Park will have to remove those references from the ballot statement, he didn’t back down in a statement to the Sierra Madre Weekly.
“This action by Barger’s campaign is nothing more than a political stunt, which aims to waste taxpayer money and bleed resources from our grassroots campaign.”
Thursday’s debate is only the first supervisor debate. The next debates will be:
