Good Samaritan finds missing Chinese tourist

Tong Huang, who was visiting relatives in Arcadia from China, was found in Monterey Park.

Tong Huang, an elderly man visiting Arcadia who went missing on Thursday morning, was safely found in Monterey Park by an anonymous resident. Huang, who is from China, was reunited with local relatives at about 10:30 p.m., according according to Sgt. John Bonomo of the Arcadia Police Department. 

Huang, who was last seen at about 7:30 a.m. on Huntington Drive and Sunset Boulevard, was found in Monterrey Park by an unknown good Samaritan. This person drove Huang to the Arcadia residence where he was being hosted.

A police statement said that Huang was known for taking morning walks, but didn’t return on Thursday morning.

“He has no money, no phone, and no destination other than the Arcadia relatives. Mr. Huang is in good health,” the statement also said.
