Second closure scheduled this weekend
PASADENA — The 210 freeway near Pasadena will be closed this weekend for the second time this month. The closure will shut down the Highway 134 connector to the Interstate 210, between Lake Avenue and Mountain Street, from Friday night until Monday morning.
The westbound offramps for Marengo Avenue and Mountain Street, and the onramp at Walnut Street will also be closed. The previous closure was two weeks ago, and ended a few hours earlier than expected at 3:45 p.m. This closure will last from 10 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday.
Caltrans urged motorists to use caution while driving in the freeway construction area. “Be extra alert and follow all freeway detour signs if you must travel through the area,” officials said. “Motorists should consider seeking alternative routes to avoid this part of I-210 during the closures.”
Officials also stressed that the freeway closures would not affect local businesses.
“Pasadena remains open for business and welcomes everyone to visit, dine and shop here instead of being stuck in freeway traffic!”
Caltrans has used the tag “#RoseJam” on Twitter and other social media to communicate information about the closure.
